Extra Virgin

I was so tired last night. I was a bit worried I'd read the blog I wrote last night and what I thought was an account of my day would read more like 'purple unicorns glitter gasodjoiwi pizza woijiodfjso cheesecake'. Thankfully that was not the case. We went to bed and Chris put on Scream because he's in Halloween mode and I've never seen it. I'm a child when it comes to horror movies. I'm always paranoid I'm going to have nightmares and what not.

I'm still having recurring nightmares about working and disasters happening resulting from my MS and what not. It's distressing and I still haven't figured out how to make them chill. I think it's coming from my frustration of not being able properly to contribute financially to the household. I'll be thankful when my disability appeal is done (hopefully?). It's frustrating that MS is a recognized disability, yet Social  Security fights us on it anyways. I worked hard my whole life before my disability reared its head paying in my dues to Social Security.

Anyways, getting off topic.

I fell asleep about ten minutes into the movie, and I fell asleep hard. I have so much trouble sleeping from my MS. I had a sleep study done a bit over a year ago and blew the specialist's mind with my brain's refusal to go to sleep. Pretty sure I haven't slept that hard since I had surgery on my ankle, hah! I slept a good eight hours at least.

The downside to this though is that by the time I'm actually awake most of the people I want to call today are going to be closed. Being a night owl can be a problem. I need to change up my sleep schedule and for sure get the rest of these calls handled on Monday. I need to make a list. My memory is terrible, and when it comes to large amounts of things I need to get done, lists are crucial.

Tux has been very sneezy lately. Chris says it's just a cold, that cats get them. I've never been responsible for a cat long term before. Do cats just get colds? I've never seen a dog with just a random cold. My anxiety wants to rush him to the vet. My wallet wants to hope that cats really do just get colds and the sneezing will shortly stop. He generally has been sneezing all over Chris which I must admit gives me giggles.

Chris has been coughing so much lately. It's making me crazy. I'm about to airplane spoon feed him some cough syrup it's that bad. I don't know if he's catching a cold or his lungs are finally telling him he really needs to quit smoking. I know pineapple is a natural cough suppressant. I feel like I need to find something clever to make with it just so the coughing stops for awhile, hah! It's one of those things that's grating to me for some reason.

The stylist doing my hair and makeup for the wedding convinced me to give in to the coconut oil craze. I've been scoffing at everyone's recent obsession with it and assuming it would die out like most trends. It seems it really does hold a lot of natural benefits though. My wedding party has been trying to get me to surrender and buy some for a good year. My Mom tasked my grandmother with the responsibility of buying it. Which I knew right away was going to be a terrible idea. My grandparents bicker over trying to pick a brand of hot dogs at the grocery store. Finding something at the store that they've never used? Good luck. My Mom told them 'Extra Virgin, Organic'.

My grandmother called me from Wal-Mart to inform me that the only thing she could find was coconut shampoo. I reminded her of last nights conversation she had with my Mom, and that it is in fact in the baking section of the store. She kept me on the phone as she went to that section and read through every single bottle when she finally found it. Then to her dismay she wanted to know why it didn't have hair instructions on the back. I had to remind her again that she was in the baking section of the store and hair washing instructions were highly unlikely. Which turned into a whole conversation of why I'm putting something from the baking aisle into my hair and on my skin in the first place. I thought old people were big on homeopathic uses of products? Whatever. I talked her through finding the right thing. Whether or not that's what she actually comes home with is yet to be seen.

It was on sale!
Got a letter in the mail today about the changes to my insurance policy I purchase from the marketplace. If I keep the current policy I have my premium is actually going down by twenty dollars a month starting in January, but the benefits are once again changing and becoming shittier. This time though they're not offering a better more expensive plan to switch to like they did last year. The plans aren't visible on the Marketplace until the first of November so I don't know if there are going to be other companies offering anything better or not. My co-pays are practically doubling, there's no zero deductible policies available anymore, my coinsurance is doubling. No good. No good at all. The game plan anyways is to switch over to Chris' insurance when we get married because it will save us a great deal of money every month. So, I guess I really don't need to worry about it. I'm hoping the benefits will be decent on Chris' policy though. When you have so much medical crap going on, a decent health insurance is important to avoid total financial ruin by medical debt.

It seems every year they're getting better and better at rolling out open enrollment. The first two years were really rocky and questionable. This year they seem to be really getting their crap together.

Tux has been trying really hard to see out the window past our blind today. Chris decided to pull the blind up for him to avoid this happening:

Instead now, this is happening:

Cats, man.

I have no idea what I'm making us to eat today. My grumbling belly says I should probably figure it out though.

We have pumpkin carving to work on as well. It seems like it's nice out today at least. I was going to make an iced coffee to help get me moving, but I just remembered that we still don't have milk. Bah! Better start being productive.
